DAT Metal Fabrication is Al Taher Group's fabrication division, operating from our workshop in the Al Hail Industrial Area, Fujairah. Structural steel, frames and canopies, sheet metal work, safety bollards, metal fencing and one-off architectural pieces — cut, formed, welded, finished and powder-coated in-house, then installed by our own team across all seven emirates.

What do we fabricate?
- Structural steel — frames, mezzanines, canopies, staircase stringers and support structures, fabricated to drawings.
- Sheet metal fabrication — enclosures, panels, covers, ducting supports and custom formed components.
- Safety bollards and steel bollards — fixed, removable and collapsible, for car parks, forecourts and loading bays.
- Metal fencing and fence panels — perimeter systems powder-coated to match gates and railings.
- Architectural metalwork — screens, feature panels, planters and bespoke pieces in steel and aluminium.
- Stainless steel work — handrails, frames and fittings where corrosion resistance is critical.
- Repairs and modifications — strengthening, extending and refinishing existing metalwork.
How do we work with contractors and developers?
Trade work is a substantial part of the fabrication division. We quote from tender drawings, work to main contractor programmes, and carry out our own site survey, fabrication and installation. For interior fit-out firms specifically, metal, aluminium and glass are the trades most commonly missing in-house — so we function as that scope rather than competing on joinery. The same 48-hour site visit and 24-hour quotation commitment applies to trade enquiries.
Why does finishing under one roof matter?
Powder coating happens on our own line in the same building. That matters more than it sounds: fabricated steel that travels to a third-party coater comes back on someone else's schedule, in a batch shared with other work, with colour consistency you cannot guarantee. What do we not do in-house — stated plainly?
We do not own laser-cutting or CAD equipment. Where a design calls for laser-cut components we work with specialist partners for that step, and detailed drawings are prepared for approval before fabrication begins. Cutting, forming, welding, finishing, powder coating and installation are all ours. We would rather be clear about the boundary than let you assume otherwise.

What does a typical fabrication package include?
A defined scope, a drawing set, and dates in writing. A representative contractor package runs like this: we receive tender drawings and return an itemised quotation against them — steel sections, plate work, fixings, finish and installation as separate lines. On award, our surveyor confirms critical dimensions on site, because as-built concrete rarely matches the structural drawings to the millimetre. Shop drawings follow for approval where the design warrants them, laser-cut components are placed with our specialist partners at this stage, and fabrication proceeds in our workshop with welding, finishing and powder coating in sequence. Delivery is coordinated to the site programme — steel arriving before the slab is ready helps nobody — and our own crew installs, from setting-out through final touch-up. Villa-scale packages compress the same discipline: a gate, matching fence panels and a staircase stringer still get a drawing, a confirmed measure and a committed date, because the process is what makes the result predictable at any scale.

Yes. Send the drawings and we will quote from them, then confirm dimensions on site before fabrication begins so what is built matches what is actually there.
Do you take on contractor and trade work?
Yes. We quote from tender drawings, work to main contractor programmes and handle our own survey, fabrication and installation. Fit-out firms commonly use us for the metal, aluminium and glass scope they do not hold in-house.
Do you make safety bollards and metal fencing?
Yes — fixed, removable and collapsible bollards for car parks and loading areas, and perimeter fencing and fence panels powder-coated to match adjacent gates and railings.
Do you have in-house laser cutting or CAD?
No, and we prefer to say so. We work with specialist laser-cutting partners when a design requires it, so laser-cut designs are available. All cutting, forming, welding, finishing and powder coating happens in our own workshop.
