Al Taher fabricates and installs glass works across all seven emirates from our Fujairah workshop. Framed and frameless partitions, toughened shower enclosures, structural balustrades, shopfronts, skylights and mirrors — templated on site, cut and edged in-house, and fitted by our own installers. Glass and the aluminium that frames it are handled by the same team, which removes the gap where most glazing problems start.
How we work
- Free site visit within 48 hours — we measure the actual structure, not a drawing.
- Itemised quotation within 24 hours of the visit — materials, finish, hardware and installation priced line by line.
- Fabrication in our own Fujairah workshop — no subcontracting.
- Installation by our own team, with committed dates written into the quotation.
What glass work do we cover?
- Office and home partitions — framed aluminium systems for acoustics and budget, frameless for an uninterrupted look. Partition guide →
- Shower enclosures — walk-in screens, hinged and sliding, in toughened safety glass templated after tiling.
- Glass balustrades — toughened or laminated, in channels, clamps or standoff pins, for stairs, balconies and mezzanines.
- Shopfronts and entrance screens — frameless and framed retail glazing with commercial-grade hardware.
- Skylights and overhead glazing — laminated safety glass in fabricated aluminium frames.
- Mirrors and decorative glass — bathroom, wardrobe and feature mirrors cut and edged to size.
Framed or frameless — what actually differs?
Frameless is not simply "better" — it is a different set of trade-offs. Framed systems hold glass in aluminium profiles, which means better acoustic sealing, easier door alignment and lower cost. Frameless removes the profile, so the glass itself must do structural work: typically 10–12mm toughened rather than 6–8mm, with patch fittings or channels engineered for the load. You gain a cleaner look and lose some acoustic performance and budget headroom. For a meeting room where sound privacy matters, framed with acoustic seals usually outperforms frameless.
Why is safety glass non-negotiable?
Shower enclosures and balustrades are safety-critical, and both require toughened (tempered) glass — which fragments into blunt granules instead of shards — or toughened-laminated, which additionally holds together on an interlayer when broken. Ordinary annealed glass is not acceptable in either application. Balustrade glass also has to be fixed in hardware rated for the load, and on a Fujairah balcony the fittings, not the glass, are what corrode first. We specify glass and fittings together for that reason. Full glass specification guide →
Why do we template after tiling?
Most leaking shower enclosures are measuring failures, not glass failures. Walls are rarely plumb and tiled corners rarely square, so an enclosure cut to the architect's dimensions will not seal against the room as built. We template after tiling is complete, cut and edge to the real opening, and drill hinge positions to suit. It adds a visit; it removes the leak.
Where do we install?
All seven emirates, from our Fujairah base — with the fastest response across the East Coast. See our aluminium and glass service in Fujairah or read our buyer's checklist on choosing an aluminium and glass company.
How do we handle commercial fit-out glazing?
As a package, on a programme, with the paperwork contractors expect. For offices, retail and hospitality fit-outs we take the full glazing scope — partitions, doors, shopfronts, manifestation film and mirrors — priced from the fit-out drawings and installed in coordination with the other trades on site. Glass arrives cut and edged from our workshop, installation is sequenced after ceilings and flooring where the design requires it, and safety-glass certification and markings are documented for handover. One glazing subcontractor across the whole fit-out means one accountable party when the snag list is walked.

Frequently Asked Questions
What glass is required for a shower enclosure?
Toughened (tempered) safety glass, typically 8–10mm for framed enclosures and 10–12mm for frameless. It fragments into blunt granules rather than shards if broken. Ordinary annealed glass is not acceptable in a shower.
Can you make a frameless glass partition for an office?
Yes — frameless partitions in 10–12mm toughened glass with minimal patch fittings, plus framed aluminium systems where acoustic sealing or door alignment matters more than the seamless look. We advise which suits the room during the site visit.
How long does glass work take?
Most partitions, enclosures and balustrades are fabricated and installed within 1–2 weeks of templating, depending on glass specification and hardware. Templating happens after tiling or structural work is finished, and committed dates go into the quotation.
Do glass balustrades survive coastal air in Fujairah?
The glass is unaffected by salt air; the fittings are the vulnerable part. We use corrosion-resistant stainless or powder-coated aluminium channels and clamps on anything exposed, which is what determines whether an outdoor balustrade still looks right in five years.
Do you replace glass in existing frames?
Yes. We re-glaze existing aluminium frames and replace broken toughened panels in showers, balustrades and shopfronts, as well as supplying complete new systems.
