uPVC & WPC Doors
Two Materials, Two Jobs

uPVC glazed systems for external openings and waterproof, termite-resistant WPC doors for bathrooms and interiors — supplied, measured and installed by one team.

HomeServices › uPVC and WPC Doors

uPVC and WPC are different products solving different problems, and Al Taher Group supplies and installs both across all seven emirates — Fujairah, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain — from our Fujairah workshop. uPVC is a rigid multi-chambered plastic profile used for glazed external doors and windows — insulating and corrosion-proof. WPC (wood-plastic composite) is a solid slab material for internal doors that looks like timber but does not absorb water or attract termites. Al Taher supplies and installs both from our Fujairah workshop, alongside aluminium — which we treat as a complementary system, never a competitor.

How we work

  1. Free site visit within 48 hours — we measure the actual structure, not a drawing.
  2. Itemised quotation within 24 hours of the visit — materials, finish, hardware and installation priced line by line.
  3. Fabrication in our own Fujairah workshop — no subcontracting.
  4. Installation by our own team, with committed dates written into the quotation.

What is uPVC best for?

Balcony and terrace doors, kitchen back doors, and full window packages. The multi-chambered profile traps air, which slows heat transfer and reduces AC load — and unlike untreated metal it will not corrode in coastal air. It pairs naturally with double or Low-E glazing. Where you want very slim sightlines across wide spans, aluminium remains the stronger choice; the two are specified opening by opening rather than one replacing the other. What is WPC best for?

Bathrooms, kitchens, utility and maid's rooms — anywhere an ordinary wooden door eventually swells and sticks. WPC blends wood fibre with polymer, so it holds its dimensions in humidity, wipes clean, and gives termites nothing to eat. It takes paint, laminate and wood-grain finishes, so it matches the rest of a villa's joinery. In new UAE villas it has largely replaced solid timber for wet areas, and that is a durability decision rather than a cost one.

What do we supply and fit?

uPVC door and window systems in single or double glazing, and WPC internal doors in standard and custom sizes — complete with frames, architraves and hardware. We measure on site, supply to those dimensions and install with our own team, so a whole-villa door schedule lands on one visit programme instead of three suppliers' timelines. How does a whole-villa door schedule work?

One survey, one supplier, one programme — that is the point of buying uPVC and WPC from the same workshop. We walk the villa room by room and build the door schedule: each opening measured, each door assigned its correct material — uPVC for the glazed external openings, WPC for bathrooms, kitchen and utility, timber where the interior design calls for it — with frames, architraves, hardware and swing directions recorded in one document. The quotation then prices the schedule line by line, so upgrading the master bathroom door or adding a fire-rated variant is a visible decision rather than a renegotiation. Supply arrives as one coordinated delivery, and installation runs floor by floor with the same crew, so architrave lines and hardware heights stay consistent through the whole house. The alternative — a uPVC supplier, a WPC trader and a carpenter on three separate timelines — is how villa handovers end up with three finishes, three hardware ranges and three parties pointing at each other when a door binds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between uPVC and WPC doors?

uPVC is a rigid plastic profile system used for glazed external doors and windows. WPC is a solid wood-plastic composite slab used for internal doors. In short: uPVC for glazed external openings, WPC for internal doors — especially bathrooms and kitchens.

Are WPC doors genuinely waterproof and termite-proof?

Yes. The polymer content stops the material absorbing water, so the door does not swell, warp or rot in UAE humidity, and there is no continuous natural timber core for termites to attack. That is why WPC has become the default for bathroom and utility doors in new villas.

Do uPVC windows reduce AC bills?

They help. The multi-chambered profile insulates better than an untreated metal frame, and combined with double or Low-E glazing it measurably reduces heat entering the room — which is where most UAE cooling load comes from.

How much do uPVC and WPC doors cost?

WPC internal doors are a modest step up from ordinary flush timber doors and outlast them considerably in wet areas. uPVC external systems vary more with size, glazing and hardware. Send us the door schedule and we return an itemised quote within 24 hours of the site visit.

Do you replace doors in occupied homes?

Yes — door replacement is quick and clean because everything arrives pre-finished to measured sizes. A typical internal WPC door swap, including frame adjustment and hardware, is done in hours, and we work room by room so the house stays livable throughout.
